January TBR | 2015

January is the height of winter and so I am very much hoping that I will be able to get a fair bit of reading done whilst I'm snuggled inside with a blanket and steaming cup of tea. I ended 2014 with some books still unfinished and due back to the library soon, not to mention books that I have save specially for the New Year.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This is the first book that I intend to finish this month and is one that I'm half way through already. I absolutely loved the TV series and am happy that there is more of these much-loved characters. I am struggling to get into it at the moment as it is so different to the TV series, but I can appreciate that they needed to bridge the story and settle it into it's new format.

I am hoping that I can have this one finished  before the end of the weekend.

Angel: After the Fall

The second book that I have on my TBR list is a book that I checked out of the library at the beginning of last month. I was also a massive fan of Buffy's spin-off series too and am looking forward to seeing the graphic novel continuation of this one too.

I have a secret (guilty) feeling that I am going to like this one more than Buffy, but we'll see.

House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne

Another book that I want to read this month is the second book in the Winnie the Pooh series. I read the first one last year for Winnie the Pooh Day 2014 and absolutely loved it. I missed out on these classics when I was a child and am thrilled to have discovered them now.

Winnie the Pooh Day 2015 is on 18th January and I'll have a post and review up then.

Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood

This is the second book in the Maddam trilogy and one that I have been interested in reading for a long time. I absolutely loved Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood and cannot wait to see how the dystopian world that she set up in that book continues in this one.

BOOK JAR PICK: Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

I have wanted to read this book for a very long time and have come close to it numerous times. I very almost used this as one of my dissertation texts. Sadly, I don't have my own copy of this book, but will hopefully be picking it up from the library this coming week.
